Prong Snap Buttons

The prong snap buttons have open prongs that usually come in three standard sizes such as:

  • LIGNE 14
  • LIGNE 15
  • LIGNE 16

LIGNE is a measurement that is equal to 1/40th of an inch.

Prong snap buttons are designed with a (female) petal-like socket that engages the (male) stud. They are commonly used on knitted fabrics since they have 5 pronged rings that fasten with either the stud or the socket. Their components include:

  • Open Prong

  • Stud
